I can breathe again.

I’ve been to Trinidad more times than I can count, yet I feel like I’m seeing it for the very first time. Every morning as I head to work, I marvel at the greenery and the beautiful lush mountains around me. How did I not appreciate them before?

When I lived in Beirut, one of my only complaints about the city itself was the pollution. There were days that the pollution was so bad that I felt like I couldn’t breathe. My eyes would burn as I headed to work in serveeces, whose AC had probably stopped working 20 years ago. My hair and skin began to feel different, and I almost always felt short of breath and tired..

Yummy! Imagine breathing in THAT everyday.

The Caribbean, especially Trinidad, isn’t without its problems. Thats for shit sure. But if it’s one thing I really do appreciate about this country, it’s the clean air and the lush landscape. I feel like I can breathe again.
